Elsewhere, Kazakhstan's Galina Voskoboeva also secured a place in the last eight after she beat Iveta Benesova 6-4 6-4.
Voskoboeva will face Russian Vera Dushevina, who overpowered Romanian Alexandra Dulgheru to take a comfortable 6-3 6-1 win.
In the other quarter-finals, unseeded American Vania King will play Czech Klara Zakopalova and Slovenian fifth seed Polona Hercog will face Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova.
